Official Opening of the City Centre Cycle Hub

11 March

The City Centre Cycle Hub, Old Hall Street, was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Majid Khan on the 7 March 2015.

The Travel Smart team organised a launch event with lots of free and fun activities for the whole family. The event was hosted by Elliot Holman from Signal One’s Total Access show.

Visitors to the city centre were able to watch professional stune BMX bike displays and take part in workshops with professional BMX rider and Guiness World Record Holder, Matti Hemmings. Visitors also had the opportunity to experience virtual reality cycling, take part in the Smoothie Bike Challenge and win a bike with Signal Radio.

The cycle hub is a free facility located on Old Hall Street (opposite Argos, Hanley) where you can store your bike safely and under cover. The hub can hold up to 24 bikes and has a maintenance station with access to free tools and a universal bike pump.

Whether you work in the city centre or visit to have a look around the shops, travelling by bike is the perfect way to get around. Click here to see pictures of the event.
